Terms & Conditions
Version 1.8 · Updated 2026-10-21
1. Interpretation
In these Terms, unless context otherwise requires:
- "Zest Events & Catering", "we", "us", and "our" refer to ZEST EVENTS & CATERING, ABN 89 650 509 103, operating under the customer-facing brand Zest Events & Catering at alysha@zestcatering.com.au.
- "Customer", "you", and "your" refer to the individual or organisation placing an order or accessing the website.
- "Order" means any purchase of catering goods or services from Zest Events & Catering.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting checkout or approving a quote, you accept these Terms & Conditions; that submission is an order request, not order confirmation. It is the Customer's duty to review order details carefully. We may update these Terms periodically; the version displayed at checkout or quote confirmation applies.
3. Orders & Confirmation
Submitting checkout or approving a quote is a request, not a confirmed order. Unless the Zest team expressly confirms the order in writing sooner, it is confirmed only when the invoice has been paid in full.
Quotes are not bookings while in draft, sent, viewed, or pending states. Customer approval of a quote creates an order request and invoice, not a confirmed order. Quotes are valid until their displayed expiry date, or for 30 days if no expiry date is shown. An operational calendar entry by our staff does not replace the confirmation rule above.
A minimum food order of $100 + GST applies.
Order by 2:00 pm Sydney time on the business day before delivery. For Monday delivery, the cutoff is 2:00 pm Friday. Weekend delivery is by arrangement.
4. Delivery
Standard delivery hours are 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Weekend deliveries are available on request through Contact Us, not automatic online booking. After-hours or weekend deliveries require prior approval and may incur extra charges. A delivery fee of $12 + GST per dropoff applies unless adjusted or removed by our administration team.
Our currently configured delivery zones determine standard availability. Delivery outside those zones must be requested and confirmed by us. Customers must provide an accurate address and building, loading dock, lift, security and other access instructions, and ensure an available recipient. Reasonable redelivery or additional costs may apply where incorrect details, inaccessible premises or an unavailable recipient cause the issue.
We recommend selecting a delivery time before the meeting or event begins. Cold food may arrive up to about one hour before service and hot food about 15 minutes before service. Please allow a contingency of up to 15 minutes after the requested time for unforeseen traffic or access issues; this does not limit any agreed remedy or right under the Australian Consumer Law.
5. Pricing & Payment
Payment, GST, account terms, due dates, and deposit requirements apply exactly as configured and shown on your quote or invoice.
Payments for invoices can be made via manual methods where shown or arranged (such as direct bank transfer or arranged card payment). Any applicable card surcharge will be displayed on the invoice. Where online card payment is available at checkout, Stripe processes card details through its embedded payment components. Zest does not store complete card numbers or card security codes. Card availability is shown at checkout.
6. Amendments & Cancellations
To cancel an order, contact alysha@zestcatering.com.au or 0400 000 161 as early as possible.
- More than 72 hours’ notice: Free cancellation.
- 48–72 hours’ notice: Up to 25% of the total order value.
- 24–48 hours’ notice: Up to 50% of the total order value.
- Less than 24 hours’ notice: Up to 100% of the total order value.
Cancellation fees are limited to reasonable costs and losses incurred in connection with the confirmed order, including supplier commitments, food preparation and other unrecoverable expenses.
These percentages are maximums, not automatic charges. Zest assesses each cancellation, takes reasonable steps to minimise loss, and accounts for avoided costs, refunds, recoveries and amounts already retained. The same loss will not be recovered twice. Any assessed charge must not exceed either the applicable maximum or the reasonable costs and losses incurred.
All notice periods are calculated in actual elapsed hours from when Zest receives the cancellation request to the scheduled delivery time, not business days. At a shared boundary, the lower maximum applies: exactly 48 hours falls in the 48–72 hour band.
This policy does not affect customers’ rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Ordering lead times are separate from cancellation notice. Order by 2:00 pm Sydney time on the business day before delivery. For Monday delivery, the cutoff is 2:00 pm Friday. Weekend delivery is by arrangement. This cancellation schedule also applies to bespoke and quoted orders; a quote does not override these protections.
We will only substitute products when reasonably necessary, inform you where practicable, and will not make any material dietary changes without prior agreement.
7. Dietary & Allergens
Please review our Dietary & Allergen Notice. While we handle dietary requests strictly, we do not operate an allergen-free environment unless confirmed. Severe allergy customers must contact us before ordering.
8. Account Credits & Referrals
Any account credits or referral rewards are governed strictly by the rules described in our Credits, Referrals & Promotions terms. Credits are applied automatically, have no cash value, and are non-transferable. Account credit is applied before any referral reward discount.
9. Event Scope & Equipment
Our service is limited to the catering products and services listed on the current menu or expressly included in an accepted written quote. Buffet and banquet-style packages are available where listed. Event package and buffet minimums: Christmas Buffet Lunch — 12 guests; Signature Event Packages — 20 guests; Asian Buffet Catering — 25 guests; Diwali Banquet — 25 guests; Mexican Taco Station — 25 guests; Italian Buffet Catering — 25 guests. Each product page shows its minimum. A menu or package listing does not include venue hire, wedding planning, private dining or full event management. We do not ordinarily supply event equipment such as tables or chafing dishes, though we may recommend local suppliers.
We do not supply alcohol. Booked service staff may lawfully serve client-supplied beverages within the agreed scope of their engagement.
10. Acceptable Use & Intellectual Property
You agree to use our website and your account only for lawful purposes, such as placing orders and managing your corporate profile, and not for any fraudulent, abusive, or disruptive activity.
All website and account content, styling, menus, and media remain the intellectual property of Zest Events & Catering. Account use is strictly for ordering and managing your corporate profile.
11. Liability & Force Majeure
If we are unable to perform our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (force majeure), we will notify you, take steps to mitigate the impact, and offer to reschedule, refund, credit, or provide another remedy as required by the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) or our agreement with you.
We accept liability only to the extent required by the ACL. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any non-excludable guarantees, rights, or remedies you have under the ACL.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales. If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the severability of that clause will not affect the remainder of the terms.
