Dietary & Allergen Notice

Version 1.1 · Updated 2026-10-19

Halal Dietary Requirements

Ask Zest to confirm halal requirements before ordering. Where shown, Halal suitable reflects supplier advice assessed against that exact product and variant; it is not a certification claim. Certification is identified only if current product-specific certificate evidence is documented and reviewed. Ingredient sourcing, certification status and preparation or handling arrangements may vary. An owner ingredient review alone does not establish halal suitability. Please speak with us before ordering if halal certification or specific handling standards are required.

Halal is not an allergen classification. Vegetarian, vegan, no-pork or alcohol-free descriptions do not by themselves establish halal suitability. No dedicated halal kitchen, separate equipment or absence of cross-contact is implied.

1. Allergens in Our Kitchen

All food is prepared in a busy commercial kitchen that handles a wide variety of ingredients, including common allergens such as nuts, dairy, egg, soy, gluten, and shellfish. While we adhere strictly to food safety and cross-contamination protocols, we do not operate in a guaranteed allergen-free environment unless expressly confirmed in writing for a specific bespoke order.

We cannot guarantee that every dietary request can be accommodated, particularly for highly complex or compound allergies.

2. Gluten Classifications

We distinguish carefully between items designated "Gluten Free" and "No Added Gluten".

  • No Added Gluten: The recipe does not contain gluten ingredients, but the item is prepared in a shared kitchen where cross-contact with flour and other gluten products is possible.
  • Gluten Free: Items that are strictly certified or prepared under isolated conditions. Please contact us to confirm which items meet this rigorous standard if you require guaranteed Gluten Free options.

3. Severe Allergies & Anaphylaxis

Customers or their guests who have severe or anaphylactic allergies must contact us directly prior to ordering. Online dietary notes alone are insufficient for safely managing life-threatening allergies. A consultation allows us to honestly assess whether we can safely cater for the individual.

4. Ingredient & Supplier Changes

Our recipes, supplier practices, and specific product ingredients may change over time due to seasonal availability or sourcing adjustments. A product that was suitable for a specific dietary requirement in the past must still be treated carefully. Always ensure current dietary requirements are noted at the time of each order.

Nothing in this notice removes your non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

5. Third-Party Information Authority

When using our Dietary Guest Register or submitting dietary details for colleagues or guests, you confirm that you have permission and authority to disclose health-related dietary or allergy information, you have provided any required notice to the individual, and you consent to Zest Events & Catering using it for order fulfilment.

Access to this sensitive data is strictly limited to staff and service providers who need it for preparation and delivery, and it is retained in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
