Delivery, Cancellations & Refunds
Version 1.5 · Updated 2026-10-21
1. Service Areas & Zones
Zest Events & Catering delivers within the greater Sydney metropolitan area. Our configured delivery zones are authoritative and govern our ability to fulfil orders. Deliveries to addresses outside these zones may be accommodated by special request but are subject to kitchen capacity and driver availability.
2. Minimum Order Value
A minimum food order value of $100 + GST applies to all standard delivery orders. This minimum excludes any applicable delivery fees. Orders falling below this threshold will not be processed online.
3. Delivery Windows & Timing
Our standard delivery hours are 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Weekends are available on request through Contact Us. Deliveries outside standard hours or on weekends require approval, are handled by enquiry only rather than automatic online booking, and may incur an extra charge.
Cold food may arrive up to one hour before service and hot food about 15 minutes before service. Please allow up to 15 minutes after your requested delivery time for traffic or access delays. This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Order by 2:00 pm Sydney time on the business day before delivery. For Monday delivery, the cutoff is 2:00 pm Friday. Weekend delivery is by arrangement.
Our standard delivery area includes Sydney CBD, North Sydney, Lower North Shore and Macquarie Park within our Sydney metropolitan delivery boundary: approximately Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park in the west, Brookvale and the Manly/Dee Why coast in the north, Bronte in the east, and Caringbah in the south. These are approximate boundaries, not a guarantee for every address in a postcode. Check your area below; we verify the full delivery address at checkout. For locations outside the standard zone, contact us for a delivery quote.
4. Delivery Fees
A standard delivery fee of $12 + GST applies per dropoff. This fee is calculated at checkout for standard orders. The fee applies to each distinct delivery slot or location. Zest Events & Catering administration reserves the right to adjust or remove this fee under specific circumstances.
5. Building Access & Handover
It is the customer's responsibility to provide clear delivery access, accurate addresses, and a designated recipient. If delivery fails or is significantly delayed due to incorrect address details, inaccessible buildings, or absent recipients, redelivery costs will be borne by the customer.
6. Cancellations & Amendments
To cancel an order, contact alysha@zestcatering.com.au or 0400 000 161 as early as possible.
- More than 72 hours’ notice: Free cancellation.
- 48–72 hours’ notice: Up to 25% of the total order value.
- 24–48 hours’ notice: Up to 50% of the total order value.
- Less than 24 hours’ notice: Up to 100% of the total order value.
Cancellation fees are limited to reasonable costs and losses incurred in connection with the confirmed order, including supplier commitments, food preparation and other unrecoverable expenses.
These percentages are maximums, not automatic charges. Zest assesses each cancellation, takes reasonable steps to minimise loss, and accounts for avoided costs, refunds, recoveries and amounts already retained. The same loss will not be recovered twice. Any assessed charge must not exceed either the applicable maximum or the reasonable costs and losses incurred.
All notice periods are calculated in actual elapsed hours from when Zest receives the cancellation request to the scheduled delivery time, not business days. At a shared boundary, the lower maximum applies: exactly 48 hours falls in the 48–72 hour band.
This policy does not affect customers’ rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Ordering lead times are separate from cancellation notice. Order by 2:00 pm Sydney time on the business day before delivery. For Monday delivery, the cutoff is 2:00 pm Friday. Weekend delivery is by arrangement. This cancellation schedule also applies to bespoke and quoted orders; a quote does not override these protections.
We will only substitute products when reasonably necessary, inform you where practicable, and will not make any material dietary changes without prior agreement.
7. Refunds & Consumer Rights
If goods or services do not meet the guarantees under Australian Consumer Law, please contact us to arrange the remedy to which you are entitled. Depending on the nature and extent of the failure, remedies may include correction, replacement, cancellation, a refund or compensation. The cancellation schedule does not impose charges or reduce refunds where doing so would limit your statutory rights.
For a customer-requested cancellation covered by the schedule, any refundable payment is calculated after any properly assessed cancellation charge, without double recovery. We will explain the assessment and any deductions. Store credit is not a substitute for a refund where you are legally entitled to a refund, unless you freely choose it.
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Nothing in these terms limits those non-excludable rights.
